Pink Sunday is BACK!!!!! • 2/25/2009
SUNDAY... PINK SUNDAY RETURNS!!! Sunday March 1st! We've been waiting all year to bring you this event and just like any good sequel, it's going to be bigger and better! This event is two-tiered this year, starting off at City Side and The WOW Lounge from 12 pm - 4pm: (3703 Henderson Blvd, Tampa) Join The Tampa Bay Sisters and Special Guest Melanie Minyon for a free BBQ, PINK Drink Specials, entertainment and some SERIOUSLY AMAZING Raffle Prizes including a 50/50!! There will be a $5 suggested donation at the door, which will get you entrance to the BBQ. What could be better than BBQ, drinks and FUN? Bboth tiers of Pink Sunday will be benefiting Frances House, Metro Charities, ASAP and The Gaybor District Coalition, as well as the Sisters' General fund, which donates to needy community charities all year round!

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am posting this. Last Friday Ron McCallister, most of you know him as Stella, passed away. Stella was a great guy and a gentle soul and will be missed tremendously by his friends and family here at City Side. We are planning a "Celebration of Life" party for Wednesday, January 28, 5-8pm. This will be a chance for his friends and family to gather and share the good times we have shared with him and to celebrate his life. Hi guys! Love what you did with the WOW bar for us non-smokers. I no longer have to burn my clothes when I leave the bar! LOL! It is kind of hard for those of us who really don't like the smoke to have to enter the bar thru the smoking section or pass thru it to go to the bathroom. Also, most of your patrons are older than the usual "ybor kids" so can we mix in some 70's, 80's or 90's tunes with the current stuff? Thanks!

I have been going to City Side for many years...loved the old bar and like the new one a lot, I have no family, and most of the staff is like extended family! I truly enjoy the people and the warm reception I recieve from those who know me well...just wish the music was just a little lower in volume, the loud music makes it hard to visit, and everyone who knows me, realizes I am a social butterfly...I am one of the "Older Crowd" and feel as welcome as the younger ones are...Thanks City Side for being there! Cityside has been my favorite night spot for the past four years. Monday nights are a lot of fun. I am moving to New York City this weekend, and will miss all the fun times I had at this bar. Thanks for your input about the music or lack there of on the patio Sundays. There are no more 4 o'clock bucs games this season so this will not be an issue and their will be dance music on the patio. thanks again! jimmy

I am one who would like a return to having music on the patio on Sunday afternoons in lieu of the games being played there over the sound system...and on the tv, for that matter. The CitySide website advertises the Sunday afternoon T-dance....but as it now is, is not conducive to any kind of actual "party" atmosphere....certain not the football games.

Great mix in the crowd..mostly men, but THAT's how I like it! The patio is a really great area if you want a change of atmosphere....and their buffet is wonderful. I had such a good time last Sunday, I stayed-on much later than usual....it ONLY GOT BETTER!! My thanks to all at the CitySide who make it all happen and work so well. Larry

It is very nice to leave home and feel like your at home at City Side, The staff are very warm and friendly. It is a great place to hang out and socialize. The music videos create interest and a point of discusion. Jimmy always makes one feel safe and like they are very special to him. Skeeter's humor and smile can make a bad day into one that is really not all that bad.

You guys do so much for our community, I always have a good time socializing,Love music very eclectic,very sociable bartenders managed by what seems to be a very levelheaded person I think his name is Jim Beacham.I always have a very good experience when I go there.also good idea to have Bowling tournaments POOL tournaments,Sunday barbecues or excellent,all in all very tasteful and CLASSY BAR. Love the new music and videos. The only suggestion I could make is to intermix older videos with the newer ones. There is truly a mixed crowd in the bar at most times and it would be nice to hear things from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today.

I know alot of people feel this way. City Side is the 1 place in Tampa that makes you feel like your part of a family. I had never been to any Tampa clubs before. I and my friend Geena thought we would try The Flirt but when we got there it was padlocked. WTF?? So anyway, I pulled out my printout of gay bars in Tampa and plugged in the address for City Side and 15 min later we strolled in. I liked it immediately. Mature crowd of professionals, mmmm, just my style. Well, I have to say by the end of the evening, I had the best time I have had in many, many years. And that includes a lifetime of living in Boston until recently. I talked and laughed with so many people and exchanged email addresses and phone #'s. A special thanks to the staff who made this new T-gal in town so at home!

City side is a nice relaxing bar that I frequent to meet with my friends to get the latest gossip or to gossip about others around us. It's appears to be a popular spot due to the plethora of different people (black, white, gay, straight, don�t know, young and old) that visit this bar. Also, the bartenders are the best bartenders in the Tampa Bay area by far! Keep up the great work City Side. It will be exciting to see how you grow in the future. D. Rich
